[Well, it was a normal, bright day in Violet City. Perfect to let some pokémon run around and relax, right?

That's exactly the idea Hikari had, which is why right now her Togepi and Happiny are running around, having run and generally exploring everywhere under Hikari's watchful eye. She would've had more of them out, but right now, that definitely wasn't a good idea. All she needed to do was have on of her pokémon distract her for two seconds for the babies to run off, and then she'd start freaking out and trying to tear up the city looking for them.

So yeah, not a good idea to let more of them out at a time. Especially since Togepi and Happiny were having a lot of run just running up and saying hi to well... everyone that passed them by.]

Okay you two! Hold still for a minute, okay?

[Hikari moved to pull out her camera, but then something happened that got her to stop doing it. Togepi blinked, frowning a bit as she started to glow.]

Togepi? What's happening?

[She runs over to the babies, and Happiny just let's out a happy squeal as Togepi glows a bit brighter. And seems to grow a bit, until finally, the light fades away. And the Togepi looks quite a bit different.]

Toge! Togeetic!

[And before Hikari can even react, there's now a small, but bigger flying pokémon pouncing on her and knocking her into the ground. Followed by a Happiny jumping on her. Oh dear, Hikari's being crushed by cute. When has this happened before?]

[Hikari nodded.]

Yeah, it is. This place is called Johto. I've... been here for months now, actually. Time is a bit weird with where it takes people from.

[And she had to do was look at Miyako-san, after all.]

What's the last thing you remember?

[Togetic is just letting out a few happy squeals, seeing Takeru back has it pretty excited.]

I see. [Johto, huh... Okay, he can deal with that. He actually lets out a lopsided smile at how Togetic is behaving. It seems pretty excited to see him and that makes him wonder a bit.] So, it's not like how time flows from our world and the Digital World, then?

[At her question:] --Oh, well, it's been a few days since we defeated BelialVandemon. How about you?

Yeah. Well, not like that. I mean, Miyako-san's... from way before me and Daisuke, to give an example. She's back from when Ichijouji-kun was still the Kaiser.

... And I'm around three months or so after we defeated Beliai Vamdemon.

Oh. [He blinks. Not only does it seem to have differences in the flow of time, this world can also pull people from different points in it. That raises a notch of alarm within him which he sets aside for now.] I guess it really is a bit weird.

[And then, he remembers something:] -By the way, Hikari-chan, what did you mean by I'm back earlier?

[Hikari blinkes, as Togetic trills out a bit and tries to take over the pokégear.]

Well... you were kinda here before, but you ended up being sent home.

[That just shocks him.]

But... I don't remember being in this place before. [He gives his surroundings another browse. By this moment, Chikorita nuzzles its head against his leg that he crouches down to pet it.]

[Hikari nods at that.]

Yeah. It seems like that happens sometime. The other you that was here was also from around the same point in time that I was. This place is just pretty confusing at times.

[He sighs and looks down at Chikorita who he continues patting on the head gently. He can't believe this place also tampers with people's memories.] I guess the important thing is, I don't seem hurt.

[Yeah, he'll think of the positives for now. Chikorita lets out a small pleased sound before Takeru turns his attention back at his Pokégear.] Do you know why we're here and who brought us here? Does it involve helping this world?

[Hikari nodded.]

Yeah, that's good.

And... well... no. No one here has any idea why people are being brought here. Helping this world is really the only thing that makes sense to me, but so far, no one's really requested help from anyone. I mean, the type of help you'd need to take people from other worlds for.

[If they don't need help...] Then, why do we have these creatures? Are they supposed to be our partners and are we really supposed to train them? [Because that's what this device said.]

[Hikari nodded.]

Yeah, they are. Well, that or we're given our first one for protection, since people who had special powers before coming here... don't have them any more.

[He also nods as a small smile starts gracing his lips. This fellow right here seems really fond him, though, that he scoops him up so he'll be sitting on his lap.]

I understand. [Brief pause.] Well, at least, I'm trying to understand. This isn't so bad since you're here, Hikari-chan.

[Chikorita, then, looks up at Takeru. Who he also meets gazes with.] And him, too. [Then, back to Hikari.] Do they have names, by the way?

[Hikari giggles.]

I haven't been naming my pokémon, since I'm used to all digimon calling themselves by their species name, but the one you're holding is a Chikorita. I have one of them too.

Yeah, I'm used to that, too.

[He chuckles a bit, patting Chikorita again.] I see. I'll call him by that, then. How did you get one, though?

Oddly enough, someone sent me a lot of Pokémon eggs shortly after I got here. While people are allowed to catch pokémon, all the ones I have except Eevee and Pidgey were hatched from eggs.

So, they also hatch from eggs... [They really have some similarities with Digimon.] By the way, Hikari-chan, where are you at?

Yeah, they really do.

And I'm in Violet City... which is about two towns from where you should be. You're in New Bark Town, right?

Yes, I am. [A wider smile this time.] Wait for me there, alright? I'll start traveling now so it wouldn't take me that long. [Which he'll prove by standing up, slinging his backpack on one shoulder and heading for route 29. Chikorita is following suit beside him.]

For the meantime, how does one catch these... Pokémon?

[Hikari smiled.]

Okay, that shouldn't be a problem. Daisuke-kun, Miyako-san, and I usually stay in towns for a while anyway.

And well, you catch a pokémon by first having yours fight against it for a bit, then throw one of the pokéballs at it.

I... kinda caught my Pidgey by accident though. Eevee knocked into me after he finished fighting it.

Fighting innocent... pokémon? [He blinks, features turning worried.] Just to catch them? Isn't that a bit too much?

How about if we just talk to them?

--Oh, but wait, so Daisuke-kun and Miyako-san are really here? [He thought they were also sent back home like he was.]

[Hikari nods.]

Yeah, I thought so too. But well... a lot of the time, the wild pokémon will attack you first.

Unless your Chikorita is as fight happy as my Eevee, anyway.

But I don't really like the idea either, it's why all of my pokémon except Pidgey came from eggs.

And yeah, they are! They're with me in Violet. Oniichan's here too... though I don't know where he is right now...

[He looks down at his own Chikorita.] I think he has a lot of energy in him. If my Chikorita does knock out a wild pokémon, there's a hospital for them, right? [That Pokémon Center?]

Ah- And Taichi-san, too? I guess we can look for him when we're all together.

Yeah, the Pokémon Centers will take care of trainer's pokemon. If it comes to it, you could always capture it and then let it go after it's healed.

At least, if it wants to leave, anyway. Pidgey... didn't, which is why I still have him.

And yeah, that's a good idea.

That's a really great idea, Hikari-chan! [You're always so full of them.] I'd do just that.
