[Well, it was a normal, bright day in Violet City. Perfect to let some pokémon run around and relax, right?

That's exactly the idea Hikari had, which is why right now her Togepi and Happiny are running around, having run and generally exploring everywhere under Hikari's watchful eye. She would've had more of them out, but right now, that definitely wasn't a good idea. All she needed to do was have on of her pokémon distract her for two seconds for the babies to run off, and then she'd start freaking out and trying to tear up the city looking for them.

So yeah, not a good idea to let more of them out at a time. Especially since Togepi and Happiny were having a lot of run just running up and saying hi to well... everyone that passed them by.]

Okay you two! Hold still for a minute, okay?

[Hikari moved to pull out her camera, but then something happened that got her to stop doing it. Togepi blinked, frowning a bit as she started to glow.]

Togepi? What's happening?

[She runs over to the babies, and Happiny just let's out a happy squeal as Togepi glows a bit brighter. And seems to grow a bit, until finally, the light fades away. And the Togepi looks quite a bit different.]

Toge! Togeetic!

[And before Hikari can even react, there's now a small, but bigger flying pokémon pouncing on her and knocking her into the ground. Followed by a Happiny jumping on her. Oh dear, Hikari's being crushed by cute. When has this happened before?]

Yeah, I thought so too. But well... a lot of the time, the wild pokémon will attack you first.

Unless your Chikorita is as fight happy as my Eevee, anyway.

But I don't really like the idea either, it's why all of my pokémon except Pidgey came from eggs.

And yeah, they are! They're with me in Violet. Oniichan's here too... though I don't know where he is right now...

[He looks down at his own Chikorita.] I think he has a lot of energy in him. If my Chikorita does knock out a wild pokémon, there's a hospital for them, right? [That Pokémon Center?]

Ah- And Taichi-san, too? I guess we can look for him when we're all together.

Yeah, the Pokémon Centers will take care of trainer's pokemon. If it comes to it, you could always capture it and then let it go after it's healed.

At least, if it wants to leave, anyway. Pidgey... didn't, which is why I still have him.

And yeah, that's a good idea.

That's a really great idea, Hikari-chan! [You're always so full of them.] I'd do just that.

Do you have any idea where he was the last time?

Last time I talked to him, he was in New Bark Town... but that was a while ago. We though he'd have passed through Violet City by now...

I do hope he's alright. I take it he also has a pokémon partner with him?

I hope so too...

And yeah, he does. A Charmander, if I'm remembering right.

Alright, that's good. [He'll just have to check what a 'Charmander' looks like later.] So, how you bring all your pokémon with you?

The pokéballs, usually. It makes carrying around six of them with you a lot easier. Especially since watching all of them takes a bit of... well, patience.

Any more than that though, and you have to store them at the PC network that can have them sent to any pokémon center though. I'm... not exactly sure how it's supposed to work or how it's possible though.

[He takes the explanation the best he can. These creatures can fit into one of these balls he has with him? How is that even...]

You have to let them out once in a while, though. I mean they need the fresh air from time to time.

Well, yeah, of course we need to do that. Why do you think Togepi... err, Togetic and Happiny were out here to be able to tackle me?

Then, I don't have to worry about that with you. [Because you obviously got that covered, Hikari. Takeru is just being a worry wart.] How long will your Togepi be in that evolved form, though?

[Hikari blinked, before smiling a bit again.]

Well... umm... to works differently for pokémon than digimon. Evolution here is more... growing rather than a power boost. He's not going to change back.

[He blinks.] ... Oh. Well, that's interesting to note. One of their notable differences.

Yeah, it really is. I'm still not sure exactly how it works though. Some of them evolve by level, others with items, and some others with how happy they are. It's a bit weird.

[Taking all that in, Takeru agrees it is weird. He's so used to Digimon evolving using digivices.]

How did Togepi evolve, then?

Togepis evolve by being happy. So I guess I've been taking real good care of him!

That's good! [Takeru feels proud of her.] I wouldn't expect any less from you, Hikari-chan.

Now I wonder how Chikorita evolves. I suppose we'll just have to find that out.

And from what I've seen, well... it looks like Chikorita evolves by gaining levels. So... fighting other pokémon and winning against them.

I guess there's no way around it, then. [He sighs before smiling down at Chikorita. Who returns his smile.] We're going to fight other pokémon for you to become stronger. [And he was rewarded by a proud "Chika!"]

Well, at least it looks like it agrees with you on that.

Well, it's important that we understand each other, right? [And Chikorita agrees with him again.]

Definitely!
