[Hey there Johto/Kanto! Today you're going to see a... well, okay, maybe having a pokémon swipe his or her trainer's gear was kinda completely normal and standard at this point.

Except... well, the Raichu who had this gear didn't really look like he was happy or panicked or anything. He looked kinda annoyed, to say the least. And then he starts to say something that only other pokémon would be able to understand, since he didn't speak English or any other language.]

Okay, I've been training for months now with my trainer and I'm bored as hell fighting against these guys who are paid to lose! We never needed to do this before and we didn't need to do this now! I know I'm more than strong enough to deal with any of you guys!

So come on, any time, any place, I'll totally kick all of your-

[The pokégear is suddenly snatched out of the pokémon's hand, and Hikari shows up on the screen, letting out a sigh.]

Sorry about this. I guess my Raichu doesn't really know when to quit with the whole 'trying to steal the gear' thing.

[Hikari forces a smile to her lips.]

I figured that he'd mellow out a bit once he grew up, but if anything it just sounds like he's gotten worse.

Anyway, for anyone who could understand what he was saying, if he did something like challenge the entire world to a fight, I'm not letting him go through with it.

[She didn't really have that kind of time, after all.

... A few moments later, Hikari does realize that it's been, like forever since she made a post. She should probably say something to make this not be a complete waste of people's time.]

... So, does anyone have any tips for dealing with an over-eager pokémon that wants to fight everything that moves? Because Raichu makes my Umbreon look like complete pacifist and it's not getting any better.

And before anyone suggests it, no, making him go against something that he can't beat and have him lose doesn't calm him down at all. It just makes him worse when he wakes back up.

Well, that's good to know even if it was without her number one assistant...

[Spike scratches his head]

You could just take him to fight really strong trainers? I mean, it's good training for him right? Maybe that makes him happy? Maybe he's bored?
rather_eat_turquoise: (are you kidding me?)

sorry for delay, was on hiatus!

[personal profile] rather_eat_turquoise 2013-07-15 12:38 pm (UTC)(link)
[Spike nods, understanding the dilemma.]

What if it's just a challenging pokemon? I mean, something he still has a chance against, but much harder than a regular one? Then you wouldn't have to worry about him getting beaten straight away?

[Spike really doesn't know much about pokemon battles, being a breeder, but he's still trying to give advice. After all, he's well aware what having a difficult pokemon is like.]
rather_eat_turquoise: (Humph!)

[Spike frowns, thinking. It was hard with a pokemon that pretty much did what they wanted.]

Well....Twilight told me that pokemon have 'type' disadvantages or something...

What if you, you know, focused on training him to be able to deal with those? You know, water on fire, that sort of stuff?
rather_eat_turquoise: (OooOOOoooh!)

[personal profile] rather_eat_turquoise 2013-07-23 11:33 am (UTC)(link)
[Spike grins, happy to have been able to help a little.]

Yeah! That's a good idea. Do you have any ground types or pokemon with ground moves that can help you?

...

Maybe I should try this with Pinchy...

[Spike muses for a moment.]

Hmm. You can probably find other trainers who have ground types too to train against.

Or you could get a ground type! The breeding centre has lots of eggs. I bet you could find one there! Or maybe even adopt one!

Then you can train them with each other! Maybe your Raichu needs a friend to train with?
rather_eat_turquoise: (Humph!)

[Spike harrumphs, annoyed.]

Well, at least that's something. Pinchy doesn't get along with any of the others.

Seriously. I think he goes out of his way to annoy them.

How many do you have?
rather_eat_turquoise: (I has tail)

[personal profile] rather_eat_turquoise 2013-07-31 08:26 pm (UTC)(link)
[Spike shrugs.]

I don't know why. Everypony needs friends.

Maybe he'd be a lot nicer if he had a friend.

I tried, but I don't think he likes me. Twilight said not to give up though.

[Spike looks impressed.]

Wow that's a lot. Not quite as many as Applejack...I think she's taken to collecting them...

I only have seven right now. Was Raichu the one you were given when you got here?
rather_eat_turquoise: (Default)

sorry for the delay - I didn't realise I'd left this one hanging! .__.

[personal profile] rather_eat_turquoise 2013-09-07 10:51 pm (UTC)(link)
[Spike cocks his head to the side, curious.]

And he's always been like this? Or only since he evolved? [Because if Pinchy was going to get worse when he evolved, that was not something Spike was looking forward to.]

What was your starter?
