[Hey Johto/Kanto, here's Hikari making a message on the gear network. She's... well, she's not a complete mess, but it's obvious to anyone who's talked to her (and maybe obvious in general) that she's upset and has been crying recently. Still, someone needs to make this message, and considering everything, it might as well be her.]

Hey everyone. I'm... I'm sorry to have to say this, but if anyone here was friends with Takeru Takaishi, I need to let you know that he's not here anymore.

[She bites her lip, wondering if she should say anything else or if this should be it. After a few more moments, she finally manages to think of something else to say.]

I guess I should ask you to take care of his pokémon like you caught or hatched them yourself if you get any of them, but I think anyone that Takeru-kun knew well enough to have his pokémon show up with them isn't someone I have to worry about not taking care of them.

[Anyway, with that said, she ends the public portion of this message... but there's still more that she needs to do.]

Hey everyone. So... now that our squads have been rearranged like this, I think it might be a good idea for all of us to meet up with each other. Or at the very least talk to each other and get to know each other better.

I already know Sora and Riku pretty well, but I've never met the rest of you and it's probably a good idea so we can work together better. Is there a good time soon for all of us to meet up?

Hey Lightning. I'm in Goldenrod now. I was actually here last week, but something happened and I needed to go back to Saffron for a bit and I figured that with the whole world being the way it was, trying to have a pokémon battle probably wasn't the best idea.

But I'm up for trying to figure out a date and time for it now if you are.

... Also, there's something else I want to ask you about. Do you want me an the others to start looking for potential new members of the Corps? We have lost a lot of new members recently, and well... we can't count on all of us being here for the foreseeable future.

[Miyako brings cheer the only way she knows how: with snacks. She's got some bubbly soda and some sugary treats in a bag on her, so once she finds Hikari after making that sad little message, she hurries over with a subdued smile.]

Hikari-chan, look what I brought!

[Huh. What do you mean Miyako... oh. Junk food.

Well, Junk Food sounded good right now. So she forces out a smile as she looks over at the other girl.]

[Yumi was off doing something in Seafoam Island but after seeing the post Hikari, she can't just ignore it. She couldn't use video right now but she's shooting her a quick text.]

how are you holding up?

I... well, I've been better Yumi. It still feels weird not to have him here anymore.

... At least we're both from the same world. So it's not like we won't see each other again.

i know its easier said than done but you gotta keep your spirits up! it wouldn't help if you're so down about it. plus, there's also the chance he could come back too right?

[Yumi was never the optimistic type but hey, she's trying to comfort someone here.]

...is there anyone else from your world still here with you too?

I... I know. It's just difficult.

But I know he can come back, he's done it before. But he didn't remember the last time he came back, and he was here a lot longer than he was last time.

... And we were dating this time too. I don't know how I'd handle it if he came back and didn't remember that.

[She pauses for a moment, before sending out another message.]

But yeah, Miyako-san's still here, at least.

[...Damn it. Between the world going crazy for that weekend and then what happened after, it had completely slipped her mind she'd planned to meet up with Hikari. She sighs before she connects. What a mess this month has turned out to be.]

I'm in Viridian at the moment. I can get back to Goldenrod, but it's going to take some time. If you can afford the trip, it may be better to have that match in Saffron instead. Less chance of running into Team Rocket, too.

[Which is about as much of "I'm sorry to have you running around like this" as Hikari's likely to get at this point. Things just got hectic.]

But if you know people that can be trusted to not sell us out and are willing to fight back, send me their names. I'll check them out.

[Okay, that was a bit funny, and she coudln't help but giggle instead.]

Wow. That's... just wow.

Anyway, I should be able to make it back there without a problem. Not sure how Miyako-san's going to like going back and forth like this, but I'll deal with that later.

And alright, I'll let you know if I find anyone who'd fit that. I know someone who's trustworthy... but I'm not sure if she wants to get involved in another battle. She never had a choice about it back home, so I'll have to ask some questions to see.

[Of course, she was around when the Guild formed and didn't go to join, so Hikari wasn't sure if she'd even want to now.]

[Yeah. Wow works pretty well. What a mess...]

It'll take a week or more to get to Saffron from where I am. You two can take a break if you want. I'll call you when I get closer.

[And try not to get carted off to Ilex or Cherrygrove again. Sometimes Johto's timing just sucks. Really.]

If she doesn't want to get involved, don't bother trying to force her. We need people who are dedicated, not people who are going to turn tail at the first sign of a fight that's bigger than some random trainer on a route.

Okay. I guess I'll see you in a week then.

[She doesn't say anything for a moment, before deciding to answer.]

I wasn't planning on forcing her or guilting her into it. Back when the guild first formed she... well, she was from pretty early in our timeline. She got memories for later back, and she's been here for a while, so her position might've changed on this.

But if she doesn't seem like she wants to get involved, well, there's not going to be much we can do. But if she does decide to get involved, she'll be dedicated, you don't need to worry about that.

[Honestly, unless there was magic destiny crap involved, she didn't think anyone could force Miyako to do something she didn't want to do no matter how hard they tried. Though it would be a shame if she didn't join, because she and Miyako really worked well together back home.]

[A soft hmm. A week, two...she'll definitely call, though.]

We'll see when she answers, then. [Waiting's all they can really do at this point. Wait and see.] If you can think of anyone else, let me know. I can talk to them.

[There's going to be a lot of talking. The last time she took to the network..maybe it'll go better this time.]

Alright. If it looks like she might be interested, I'll pass her name onto you.

Anyway, I'll keep training a little bit before our pokémon battle. Can't really use the training center, but I'm sure my team can still get some use out of more practice.

You could, too. [It's not said unkindly, just as a statement as true as "the sun comes up, the sun goes down."] Never underestimate strategy. Teach yourself to react to as many situations as you can think of. It may save you in the field.

[She's not assuming that Hikari will think of every strategy. No one can do that. But the ones she can think of...those'll help.]

Yeah. You're definitely right there.

[She knows more than anyone how much that can work. And well, she is the trainer, after all. She's the one who's supposed to be figuring out the strategies. Even if one on one pokémon battles are completely different to what she'd be doing against Team Rocket or in any actual dangerous situation.]

So work on it. We'll see how much progress you've made after our battle.

[By brute force alone? Lightning's fairly sure her team has the advantage. That's how much she's trained them. By strategy? She's counting on getting surprised at least once. Otherwise, there will be lectures in Hikari's future.]
