[The pokégear turns on, showing a big close up of Chikorita's face.]

[Well, she certainly looks happy. Wonder why? Well, Chikorita's pulling away from the gear now...

And there's an egg sitting on the couch in the shot. She jumps up to it, smiles and lets out another shout of "Rita!".]

Chikorita! Where are you? And have you seen my poké...

[There's a pause for a moment, before she gasps.]

Where did that egg come from!

Chi! Rita rita chi!

[Hikari quickly walks into view, a panic'd look on her face.]

Come on, we need to give that egg to Nurse Joy so she can find out who it belongs too!

[She moves to take the egg, but Chikorita growls at her and jumps in front of it.]

Ri. Tarita!

Why are you being so protective of it? You're acting like it's...

[She pauses again, and when she next speaks, she's a bit terrified.]

It... no. That's not yours, right?

Rita!

[And then there's Hikari falling to her knees.]

How? You're still a baby...

[OOC: So yeah, Hikari and Takeru's Chikorita's have gotten a bit friendly with each other, though thankfully for Hikari's sanity they only have the one egg here.]

Please? I think I'm going to need someone to carry the egg for me. I don't think Chikorita's going to go back into her pokéball until the egg hatches.

[Hikari smiles, before moving over to grab Chikorita. She doesn't seem to be quite that happy about it, as she's starting to struggle.]

Can you get the egg?

[he nods and reaches for the egg. He holds it gently to his chest.] Sure.

[Oh look, now there's a struggling Chikorita in her arms.]

We're not going to do anything with the egg now. We just want to make sure we keep an eye on it when we take you to Nurse Joy!

Y-Yeah! See? [with that he gently tightens his hold on the egg.]

[Chikorita seemed to take that in good faith, letting out a small smile.]

Okay then. Let's get going.

[he nods and grins.] Alright, lets go!!

[And off they go. Over to the Pokémon Center. It shouldn't take them all that long to get there now, right?]

[nnnope!! doop-doop-dop~ As soon as they reach the Center Daisuke maneuvers the egg to one side and gets the door for Hikari.]

[Hikari's going to move in a bit quickly, even as Chikorita starts to complain about being taken out of sight of the egg for a bit.]

No problem Hikari-chan! [and as soon as she's in he swings the door wider and takes that as his opportunity to walk in.]

Sheesh, she sure is protective over her egg... Do you know what happened?

[Hikari shook her head. She wasn't going to know until later, because Takeru's thread takes place after this.]

No, I don't. That's what really worries me. I never leave my pokémon out of my sight for all that long... though I guess I let her out of my sight for long enough, obviously.

Maybe Nurse Joy might know? Do you think they've got baby tests??

[he nods as he walks with Hikari up to the nurses desk.]

Yeah. I'm sure she'll tell you something!

[It doesn't take too long before Hikari is able to speak to Nurse Joy and hand Chikorita off to her to be examined for a bit.]

Sooo--do you know how long this is gonna take?

No. I'm not sure. I mean, usually healing just takes a little bit but we don't know if any-

[Nurse Joy came back, giving Hikari Chikorita and letting her know that everything was perfectly fine.]

... I guess not long.
